Undergraduate Research Scholarships at NASA WVSGC Schools

These scholarships will be awarded competitively to Undergraduate students in a space related field as defined by NASA who desire to participate in a research project during the academic year. [Field related to space means any academic discipline or field of study (including the physical, natural and biological sciences, and engineering, space technology, education, economics, sociology, communications, planning, law, international affairs and public administration) which is concerned with or likely to improve the understanding, assessment, development and utilization of space.] 

These undergraduate affiliate scholarships are awarded by the applicant’s college or university.  A faculty member from your department must endorse the project and agree to serve as your research advisor.  The amount awarded varies from each institution. Applicants for these scholarships must be full-time undergraduate STEM students of US citizenship.  Underrepresented and minority students are strongly encouraged to apply.  Please contact your institution’s representative to inquire about the amount of these scholarships. (NOTE: WVU award total is $1,000 and will be paid in the form of a stipend to the student, no budget needed for WVU students. Project Description:

Please upload a summary of the research project that you will be conducting. This description should include but is not limited to a description of the research, whether it is a new or continuing project, and the significance and/or uniqueness of the research, and budget.  If the research is a team project, applicants must clearly indicate the tasks to be completed by each team member(s) and list their work percentage on the project. Submissions should be no more than two (2) single-spaced pages in font size 12, one-inch margins and Times New Roman font.
